There are many other important Dalai Lamas, here are some them.
Gendun Drup: the 1st Dalai Lama, lived from 1391-1474, he got his name for taking the vows of a fully ordained monk. Pioneered the way for other Dalai Lamas
Gendun Gyatso: the 2nd Dalai Lama, lived from 1475-1542, 1st of the Gyatso's he was a renowned scholar and a composer of mystical poetry, and traveled far to extend Gelupa influence.
Kelzang Gyastso: the 7th Dalai Lama, lived from 1708-1757, even as a child he displayed himself as a prodigy of profound wisdom. was not afraid to speak his mind, spoke a lot to the public.
Thubten Gyatso: the 13th Dalai Lama, lived from 1876-1933. Was a skilled politician, and restored dicipline to Monestaic life.
