Lhando Thundup or the Dalia Lama was born on July 6, 1935. Lhamo Thondup was the fifth of 16 children—seven of whom died at a young age. After many months of looking for successor to the 13th Dalai Lama. To find this successor religious officials looked for religious signs, and significant spiritual signs, after many months of searching, religious officials finally found the reincarnation of the 13th Dalai Lama.
The religious officials found Lhando Thundup he was only 2 years old! The religious officials renamed him to renamed him Tenzin Gyatso. Tenzin began his education at age 6. He learned about Tibetan art, culture, Sanskrit, medicine, and Buddhist philosiphy. This knowledge helped him to become the Dalai Lama.
